How long is an Emsella Treatment
An Emsella treatment takes 28 minutes in a private room. Most patients receive 6 treatments, 2-5 days apart. You can arrive in any clothing you wish, however, we recommend avoiding thick clothing such as jeans. You will remain fully dressed throughout the entire Emsella procedure!
How long is the recovery? And are there any risks or side effects?
There is no downtime or recovery with Emsella, and the treatment is virtually pain-free. Come in for your quick appointment, and then go about your day! Side effects in the treated area may include muscular pain, temporary muscle spasm, temporary joint or tendon pain, local erythema or skin redness. However, most experience zero symptoms after treatment.
How fast will I see results?
Following the first treatment, a difference in the affected area can be felt immediately. For best results with Emsella can be seen 3 months after the recommended series.
Who is an ideal candidate?
Emsella is a great option for women of any age who desire a solution for urinary incontinence and improvement in their quality of life. Men can also benefit greatly from Emsella, treating symptoms or incontinence and improving sexual health. Men usually need 9 treatments for ED, instead of the usual 6.
What does the procedure feel like?
You will experience tingling and pelvic floor muscles contractions during the procedure. You may resume daily activities immediately after your treatment. It is not painful.
Who is not a candidate?
Emsella uses a magnet; therefore, those with metal that cannot go in an MRI machine located in the pelvic area are not candidates for Emsella - such as copper IUD or metal hip replacements. Hormone IUDs are fine! We don’t advise treatment with a pacemaker or in pregnancy - and we wait 6 weeks - 3 months (individualized decision) after childbirth or a pelvic surgery such as a hysterectomy.
